GOT7’s Yugyeom is beginning his new music career by signing with a hip-hop label AOMG.
Yugyeom and AOMG fueled speculation when they simultaneously dropped a “dance visual” video, dancing to ‘Franchise’ by Travis Scott featuring Young Thug and M.I.A. alongside a crew set against the backdrop of a grand construction site.
“We are here to announce that YUGYEOM is officially signed with AOMG to take a new step together. Please keep your eyes out on YUGYEOM’s various musical activities with AOMG,” the label said on Instagram.
The video confirmed earlier reports that he signed with AOMG, home to artists such as Simon Dominic, Lee Hi, Gray, Loco, and Woo Wonjae and set up by singer, songwriter, and rapper Jay Park Jay Park, who was also formerly signed under JYP Entertainment, in 2013.
Since GOT7’s contract with JYP Entertainment expired earlier this year, some members have officially decided to join other agencies while others has other plans.
Younjae signed an exclusive contract with Sublime Artist Agency while Jackson’s label Team Wang has signed a business agreement with agency. Jinyoung has decided to focus in his acting career by signing an exclusive contract with BH Entertainment while Mark headed back to his hometown Los Angeles to spend time with his family.
With Yugyeom’s new signing, the rapper and danced will no doubt reveal his potential as a hip-hop artist.
