GOT7’s BamBam openly shared his thoughts on marriage in the second episode of SBS’s ‘Master in the House 2.’
Thoughts on marriage
The versatile Thai rapper-singer credited his busy lifestyle as a K-Pop idol as the reason not to get married. “First of all, life is tough. We rarely get time to focus on ourselves. And as for idol stars like us, we end up in hotels a lot of times. So I don’t want to lose my life to anyone now,” he explained. “I want to be happy alone. I don’t want to do things to make other people happy.”
He also added that his married older brother, who recently visited him in South Korea, didn’t “look like himself” and appeared “very old.”
Six out of 10 unmarried men and women in their twenties don’t feel the need to get married, the ‘Master in the House 2’ production team shared, citing Statistics Korea. The number of marriages declined by 40% compared to 10 years ago, the crew further revealed.
BamBam’s thoughts on marriage seemed to have changed following his appearance on the ‘PSICK SHOW’ last year. At that time, he said he’s been thinking about marriage now that he’s approaching his thirties in a few years. “You know like, girls always think I’m cute and funny but never think that as a man,” he said.
Solo venture
BamBam made his solo debut with the album ‘riBBon’ after leaving JYP Entertainment with the rest of his group in 2021 following a seven-year stint.
The 25-year-old signed with Abyss Company, which is home to other Korean acts such as Sunmi and Urban Zakapa.
