‘Baby Shark’ creator The Pinkfong Company has entered an agreement with the Ministry of Investment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (MISA) to expand its export and business development in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region as well as the growth of Saudi’s family entertainment sector.
MoU details
The deal marks the first Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) made between MISA and a company from the South Korean animation industry, The Pinkfong Company confirmed.
The signing was held in a ceremony held at MISA’s official residence in Riyadh.
Under the agreement, MISA will support the Korean animation company’s business development and localization in Saudi, while it will share its growth strategies and latest trends in family entertainment business with the ministry.
“We are grateful to partner with the Ministry of Investment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to discover and create new opportunities in Saudi Arabia and the MENA region while contributing to the growth of Saudi Arabia’s family entertainment sector,” said The Pinkfong Company’s Executive Vice President Ryan Lee in a statement.
“Saudi Arabia is one of the fastest growing markets for Pinkfong’s content, and we will continue to bring our joyful content to families around the world.”
The Pinkfong Company partnered with media company MBC Group and telecom operator Etisalat to bring over 700 episodes from Pinkfong’s content library to Arabic-language streaming platforms, as part of its global expansion.

Pinkfong’s YouTube channel reached 160 million hours of watch time in the MENA region. Saudi Arabia topped the region, recording 1.2 billion views and 45 million hours of watch time.
In addition, Pinkfong’s app series achieved 25 million downloads in the region, with 5.5 million downloads from Saudi Arabia.
