Girl group FIFTY FIFTY and BLACKPINK’s Jisoo made their debut on IFPI’s Official MENA Chart for the week ended on April 6, 2023.
The rookie band landed at number 19 with the hit ‘Cupid’ on the weekly regional chart between March 31 and April 6, 2023.
As for Jisoo, ‘FLOWER,’ the titular track off her first single album ‘ME,’ debuted at number two, after Rema’s widely-popular track ‘Calm Down.’
The Official MENA Chart covers music streaming from 13 markets across the MENA region. It includes chart-eligible streams from Anghami, YouTube, Spotify, Deezer, and Apple Music, during the week.
Jisoo and FIFTY FIFTY are not the only K-Pop artist to make it on the regional chart. BTS member Jimin made history by becoming the first Korean act to have the biggest track in the region with ‘Like Crazy’ for the week ended on March 30, 2023. The main track of his solo debut album ‘FACE’ dropped to land at number three, according to the latest streaming singles chart.
‘Dreamers’ by his bandmate Jung Kook was also among the popular releases on the Official MENA Chart’s debut for the week ended November 24, 2022.
