TAEMIN has canceled the Abu Dhabi date for his first solo global tour ‘Ephemeral Gaze’. He was scheduled to perform on November 1.
According to an online statement from live music agency Bright World, the cancellation was “due to the drastic escalation of violence and the unpredictable circumstances in the Middle East”.
The concert would have marked the SHINee member’s second performance in the country following the ‘SMTOWN LIVE WORLD TOUR VI IN DUBAI’ in 2018 with his bandmates. It would have been his first time to hold a solo concert in the Emirates.
Taemin kicked off his tour with a two-day concert tour in Incheon, South Korea, at the end of August, before flying out to Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, and Hong Kong. More destinations are expected to be revealed soon.
Taemin debuted in SHINee with members Onew, Minho, Key, and the late Jonghyun in 2008. In May, the band wrapped up their sixth world tour, which began in June of last year, in Seoul with Onew back after a year of break due to health issues.
In April, the K-pop star revealed he signed with Big Planet Made Entertainment following his departure from longtime agency SM Entertainment.
