Kakao Entertainment and SM Entertainment have partnered strategically with the US label gamma. to launch the British boy band dearALICE.
New partnership
The global alliance will see the three companies support SM Entertainment’s first all-male British act in its music activities and global launch, amid ongoing efforts to expand its global intellectual property portfolio.
“dearALICE stands out as a truly distinctive project for our company, blending British roots with the global reach and creative influences of Kakao Entertainment and SM Entertainment. We believe this collaboration will unlock new opportunities for the group to thrive internationally, while also showcasing their groundbreaking artistry to music fans across the globe,” said Joseph Chang, co-CEO of Kakao Entertainment and CEO of SM & Kakao Entertainment, in a statement.
About dearALICE
dearALICE formed through a process documented in the BBC One series ‘Made in Korea: The K-pop Experience,’ which aired this summer.
Launched in collaboration with Kakao Entertainment, SM Entertainment and British entertainment company MOON&BACK Media, the five-member group includes Blaise Noon, James Sharp, Oliver (Olly) Quinn, Dexter Greenwood and Reese Carter.
What to look out for
dearALICE is expected to drop its debut single by the end of 2024.
