The highly-anticipated South Korean drama ‘Weak Hero Class 1’ garnered significant attention globally and regionally following its global release on Netflix on March 25, 2025.

Based on a webtoon by Seopass and Razen, also known as Kim Jin-seok, the action-packed series starring Park Ji-hoon, Choi Hyun-wook, and Hong Kyung debuted with 6.7 million views during the March 24 – March 30, 2025, viewing period.
‘Weak Hero Class 1’ was the top series in Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, and Réunion, and ranked in the top 10 in TV shows in 70 countries during the week. Regionally, the violent, coming-of-age show was a popular pick in Morocco, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

It also clocked in an impressive 36.8 million viewing hours worldwide.
Created by You Su-min and Han Jun-hee (Coin Locker Girl), the Korean series was directed by You alongside Park Dan-hee (Blue Birthday) and took place at the fictional Byuksan High School in South Korea.
Second season
The second installment will premiere on Netflix on April 25. Park returns as the pen-clicking math whiz Yeon Si-eun, joined by Ryeo-un (Twinkling Watermelon), Choi Min-yeong (XO, Kitty), and Lee Min-jae (Crash Course in Romance). Director Han Jun-hee, who helmed the first season, is also returning for the new chapter.
