‘The King’s Affection’ has won viewers, debuting on Netflix’s top daily chart at number 10.
The Korean series is a poignant palace romance about an abandoned female twin who assumes the throne as her late crown prince brother while trying to keep her identity and affection for her first love a royal secret.
Originating from a comic book series, ‘The King’s Affection’ was inspired by imaginations about a woman rising to the throne and having to disappear from history.
“On set, Park Eun bin and Rowoon brought the charming atmosphere and feelings of wistful yearning to life realistically,” the producers said in a statement.
It’s ranking comes just a few weeks following it’s episode 8 release on Netflix. The drama was released on October 11.
‘The King’s Affection’ is directed by Song Hyunwook, who is behind dramas Beauty Inside and Another Miss Oh, and written by Han Hee Jung, who is known for her work in drama ‘Clean with Passion for Now’.
