Members of K-Pop boy group IMFACT have departed from Star Empire Entertainment.
The South Korean label, home to well-known boy group ZE:A, announced the news on Twitter. “The exclusive contract of IMFACT, who debuted in 2016 and has been together for the past seven years, has ended,” the statement read. “After careful discussion, IMFACT and Star Empire Entertainment agreed not to proceed with the contract renewal.”
IMFACT formally debuted with self-produced single album ‘Lollipop’ in 2016. Members Jian, Lee Sang, Jeup, Taeho, and Ungjae didn’t get much success as they hoped, until four out of five members participated in KBS’s idol rebooting program ‘The Unit’, which resulted in their renewed popularity. They have released songs such as ‘Nanana’, ‘Feel So Good,’ and ‘The Light.’
The five-piece act made history for being the first K-Pop group to perform in Greece in 2019. As part of the annual cultural program ‘Travelling Korean Culture 2019’, IMFACT made their Middle East debut by taking the stage at the American University in Dubai that same year after wrapping up their first European tour, marking the band’s first visit to the emirate.
