‘Our Beloved Summer’ made its debut on the Netflix’s most-watched series in the UAE and Qatar.
The romantic comedy, starring Choi Woo-shik and Kim Da-mi, debuted in seventh place for the January 10 -January 16 week in the UAE, according to the streaming giant in its latest weekly Top 10 list of the most popular movies and TV shows.
In Qatar, it ranked seventh place. The 16-episode series was also in the top 10 in the TV list 13 countries on Netflix, including Japan, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.
Premiered on December 6 on SBS and Netflix, ‘Our Beloved Summer’ is a love story of two teenage lovers who once break up but meet again 10 years later. It received rave reviews for its mellow nostalgic vibe and on-screen chemistry.
It debuted on the non-English TV list during the December 20 – December 26 at number nine, with 9.9 million hours viewed. The following week, it garnered 13.8 million hours viewed. It has been in the top 10 of Netflix’s official weekly viewership chart for non-English TV series for four consecutive weeks.
Another Korean reality series ‘Single’s Inferno’ continued to make an appearance on Netflix’s weekly list. During the same week, it was in the top 10 in TV in 17 countries, such as Morocco, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
