Netflix has confirmed that ‘Parasyte: The Grey,’ a new Korean original horror series from ‘Train to Busan’ director and ‘Hellbound’ creator Yeon Sang-ho, is officially in production.
The series, based on Japanese manga legend Hitoshi Iwaaki’s popular comic book, is centered around unidentified parasitic life-forms that live off of human hosts and strive to grow their power. The original manga has sold over 25 million copies in more than 20 territories and countries.
The star-studded cast lineup includes Jeon So-nee, Koo Kyo-hwan, and Lee Jung-hyun.
Koo and Lee have previously worked with the director in the film ‘Peninsula.’
Yeon also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Ryu Yong-jae, the screenwriter of Netflix hit series ‘Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic.’
Climax Studio, the powerhouse behind hits such as ‘Hellbound’ and ‘D.P.’ and content production company WOW POINT are in charge of production. Netflix will release the show globally.
