Spotify has rebranded its flagship Korean hip-hop playlist ‘K-Hip-Hop+82” to ‘KrOWN.’
“The name is a combination of “KR,” the country code for South Korea, and “Crown/Own,” which refers to the crowned kings and queens who own K-hip-hop worldwide,” the streaming services said in a statement.
Prior to the rebranding, K-hip-hop listeners streamed the playlist over 20 million times over one year and racked up more than 430,000 followers on Spotify. Here are the playlist’s top streaming countries as of July 2022:

K-hip-hop tracks were more than 13.1 billion times, with 18- to 24-year-olds accounting for nearly half of the listenership. As of July 2022, over 520,000 K-hip-hop listeners who streamed a new song through the playlist over one month.
Spotify launched its service in South Korea in the first half of 2021. In March, ‘K-Pop Daebak,’ which was unveiled in 2014, relaunched the flagship playlist to ‘K-Pop ON! (온).’
