New Jeans continued its winning streak on the charts with two songs from its debut album.
‘Attention’ and ‘Hype Boy’ from the rookie girl group, housed by a newly created subsidiary under the HYBE Labels umbrella All Doors One Room (ADOR), ranked first and second respectively on Melon’s Top 100.
Its achievement marks a first for a K-Pop girl group, Korea’s largest music chart has confirmed.
‘Attention’ debuted ninth six hours after its release, climbing to the top on September 9, a record time for a debut song from a K-Pop girl group.
New Jeans extended its stay on Billboard’s global charts to an eighth week with the two songs, which are double title tracks from its eponymous debut EP.
NewJeans, which refers to both a pair of jeans and the word “gene,” is made up of members Hanni, Danielle, Lee Hye-in, Kim Min-ji, and Haerin. Danielle is from Australia while Hanni is from Vietnam.
The multinationl band’s album consists of four tracks including three title tracks ‘Attention,’ ‘Hype Boy’ and ‘Cookie.’
The quintet will be headed to the Riyadh to perform at KCON 2022 Saudi Arabia, their first overseases performance.
