KCON 2022 Saudi Arabia welcomed 20,000 offline attendees and garnered 8.2 million viewers across 213 regions.
CJ ENM exclusively confirmed the numbers to Forbes Middle East.
Held at the end of September, the annual Korean culture convention featured K-Pop acts such as ATEEZ, NewJeans, SUNMI, RAIN, ONEUS, and HYOLYN.
It was the first time the country hosted KCON. “Saudi Arabia was a natural next step for us to meet KCON fans in the Middle East and create an opportunity for them to experience K-culture and K-Pop,” said Seunghyeon Noh, Project Lead at CJ ENM Live Entertainment, the conference organizer. “We thought it was the perfect timing to host KCON in Saudi Arabia for the first time.”
KCON was also held in Abu Dhabi in 2016. It drew 8,000 attendees.
