BLACKPINK’s Jisoo has kicked off the next phase of her solo career by signing a global deal with Warner Records before releasing her upcoming debut mini-album, ‘AMORTAGE’ on February 14.
New chapter
“I’m excited about this new era and the continuation of my musical journey,” the K-pop singer and actress said in a statement. “I feel like I’m just getting started and I’d like to thank the BLINKs for all of their love and support. This is just the beginning and I’m thrilled to kick off this seismic moment with Warner Records.”
“There is no question that Jisoo is one of the biggest stars in the world, and we have no doubt that her solo career will be even more impactful. The energy, passion, and artistry Jisoo brings to her music is on another level,” Warner Records CEO and co-chairman Aaron Bay-Schuck said in a release.
Jisoo’s second solo album marks her second solo project since her debut single, ‘Flower,’ released in March 2023. It will be Jisoo’s first under her independent label, Blissoo, which she founded after parting ways with YG Entertainment.
She is the last of the four BLACKPINK members to sign a label deal for her solo endeavors. Lisa inked a solo contract with RCA Records in partnership with her management in April 2024 and creative company LLOUD Co. while Jennie with Columbia Records in partnership with her record label and entertainment company Oddatelier in September 2024. Two months later, Rosé signed with Atlantic Records.
What to look forward to
Jisoo’s new K-drama Newtopia is set to premiere on February 7. The longtime Dior ambassador also returned to the front row for the fashion house’s spring-summer 2025 haute couture show in Paris today.
The K-pop star is also gearing up for BLACKPINK’sgroup comeback, which is set to take place in the latter half of this year.
