BLACKPINK singer and rapper Lisa has released her much-anticipated single ‘Born Again,’ featuring Doja Cat and RAYE, continuing the themes of empowerment and freedom from her previous track ‘New Woman.’
Cross-cultural collaboration
Released through RCA Records and her own management company LLOUD CO., the energetic pop, empowering banger explores post-breakup clarity, with religious imagery symbolizing strength and self-realization.
In the music video, the three artists are portrayed as deities, symbolizing empowerment and transformation. While Lisa’s verse focuses on leaving a failed relationship, Doja Cat incorporates references to the Garden of Eden, and Raye’s bridge touches on prayer and the need to break free for spiritual salvation.
“Special thanks to @dojacat and @raye for making this the dream collab ✨ This video is a tribute to powerful women throughout history and to all of you,” Lisa said in an Instagram post.
‘Born Again’ is Lisa’s first release of 2025 and the fourth single from her upcoming debut solo album, ‘Alter Ego.’ Last year, she rolled out the singles ‘Rockstar,’ ‘New Woman’ featuring Rosalía, and ‘Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me),’ all of which will be included on the album.
‘Alter Ego’ showcases five different characters (Roxi, Kiki, Vixi, Sunni, and Speedi) representing a unique personality. It also marks her full-length debut as a solo artist after almost a decade in BLACKPINK. She made her solo debut in September 2021 with single album ‘LALISA,’ featuring ‘Lalisa’ and B-side ‘Money.’
What to watch out for
Lisa will make her acting debut in season three of HBO’s ‘The White Lotus,’ which premieres on February 16. Then, in April, she will return to the desert to debut solo at Coachella alongside bandmate Jennie and boy band ENHYPEN.
While Lisa is focused on her solo music, BLACKPINK has teased a world tour for this year.
