Brave Girls, known for the viral hit of its old single ‘Rollin,’ has decided to disband after seven years.
‘Goodbye’
The four members — Minyoung, Yujeong, Eunji, and Yuna — did not renew their exclusive contracts after discussions for a long period, Brave Entertainment said in a statement.
A symbol of late-blooming success, Brave Girls will officially end its activities today with the digital single ‘Goodbye’ — the quartet’s last release as a group.
The agency thanked its artists for the past seven years, adding it will support their new activities.
Late-blooming artists
Brave Girls debuted in 2011, with single ‘Do You Know?’ but its original members departed due to not gaining much popularity.
The reorganized girl group with second-generation members was about to disband. But Brave Girls found newfound stardom in early 2021 when its 2017 ‘Rollin” went viral after a fan-made video of the girls performing the song at various military concerts went viral on YouTube.
The South Korean quartet took over various local music charts with ‘Chi Mat Ba Ram,’ the lead track from its fifth EP ‘Summer Queen’ in June 2021. However, its other releases failed to garner listeners.
Brave Girls took to the stage at the ‘K-COLLECTION with MINICON’ in Dubai in November 2021. The act was set to perform at Expo 2020 Dubai in March 2022 but cancelled due to “unforseen circumstances.”
