BTOB’s comeback as a full group for the first time in nearly four years with the album ‘Be Together,’ charting high on the UAE iTunes charts.
The 13-song package topped the all-genre, K-Pop, and pop chart in the country. The title track ‘The Song’ , however, didn’t debut on the iTunes charts.
The 13-track album debuted straight to the top on the global iTunes album chart, becoming the group’s very first album to top the chart. It also debuted at #20 on the European iTunes album chart. Furthermore, ‘Be Together’ dominated the iTunes charts in 16 countries, including Brazil, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore.
“BTOB is a group that wants to remain next to fans and music listeners with our tunes and songs,” leader Eun-kwang said in an online press conference as per Korea Herald. “And as the title of the album suggests, it‘s like being together with them.”
The six-member band said the album’s main message is its love and appreciation toward its fanbase, as its title suggests.
Member Hyun-sik listed himself as a lyricist and composer, writing the title track and seven different sidetracks, that includes ‘Intro,’ ‘Dance With Me,’ and ‘My Way,’ His bandmate Min-hyuk also wrote five other sidetracks, such as ‘Whiskey’ and ‘Thank You.’
Their comeback is the K-Pop group’s first time since 2018’s ‘Hour Moment.’ With the exception of Peniel, who holds US citizenship, all of the members completed their mandatory military service. Eun-kwang was the first to enlist in 2018, followed by Changsub and Minhyuk. While Sung-jae and Hyun-sik started serving in May 2020, the other four bandmates released music and participated in Mnet‘s competition program ‘Kingdom: Legendary War,’ debuting as BTOB 4U — the second official sub-unit formed under the group — in 2020.
The band performed virtually in Dubai as part of Kite or K-pop in the Emirates, held last November.
BTOB is gearing for a concert next month in celebration of their 10th anniversary.
