Romantic thriller ‘Decision to Leave’ has grabbed two nominations at this year’s British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards.
BAFTA nods
Park Chan-wook is set to compete for best film director, against the likes of Edward Berger, Martin McDonagh, Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, Todd Field, and Gina Prince-Bythewood. The South Korean previously took home the best non-English language film award at BAFTA in 2018 for his work in the erotic psychological thriller ‘The Handmaiden.’
‘Decision to Leave’ has also been nominated in the best non-English language film category. ‘All Quiet on the Western Front,’ ‘The Banshees of Inisherin,’ ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once,’ Tár,’ and ‘The Woman King,’ will be vying for the award.
The Cannes-winning film is also shortlisted for the International Feature Film category at the 95th Academy Awards.
‘Decision to Leave’ is centered around a detective who develops feelings for the victim’s wife. It stars Chinese star Tang Wei and Korean actor Park Hae-il.
Airing date
The 2023 BAFTA film awards will take place on February 19.
