For rookie boy group VVS, performing in the UAE marked an early but meaningful milestone in their growing journey. Their appearance at the Korea Festival 2025 at Umm Al Emarat Park Amphitheatre, Abu Dhabi, was not only their first time on a stage in the UAE, but also their official debut in the wider MENA region.

After being welcomed by a warm and diverse audience in Abu Dhabi, VVS spoke with Yalla KPOP! about the atmosphere, their experience, and goals for 2026, and more.

This was your first time performing in the UAE and in the MENA region overall. What did that moment mean to you as a group?

It was a great honor to perform in the UAE and the MENA region overall for the first time. Since it was actually our first time in the United Arab Emirates, we couldn’t imagine the atmosphere before we got on stage. But as soon as we heard the audience’s enthusiastic cheers, our hearts opened up, and we became excited. Up until now, we had only performed in the Asian region, so this stage was not just a simple overseas performance. It was a moment where we directly confirmed the possibility that we could go further, which made it even more enjoyable.

What does it mean for VVS to be part of the Korea Festival 2025?

Korea Festival 2025 is a place to introduce Korean music and culture to people all over the world. Being able to participate in that event with VVS was truly special because it means we are taking a step forward in the direction we’ve been dreaming of. We also hoped this stage would create a good first impression for those meeting us for the first time.

Abu Dhabi brings together not only UAE fans but also a diverse international audience. What went through your mind as you saw the crowd for the first time and how did you hope to connect with them?

When we went on stage, we could immediately see that the faces and nationalities of the fans were truly diverse. Even though the languages were all different, it was so beautiful to see everyone moving their bodies, showing their expressions, and waving their hands together through the music. We felt truly proud that K-pop could unite such diverse people.

What message did you hope fans would take away from your performance?

We hoped that through our performance, everyone could forget all their worries and concerns for a little while and only have happy moments. Thanks to our fans, we were able to have such a time!

How has your experience in the UAE been so far? Did anything surprise or inspire you?

The UAE was a truly warm city. This was true for the weather, but we felt it even more from the attitude of the people. Even with people we met for the first time, they would smile and greet us in a friendly way, and their willingness to listen to our stories was impressive. This kind of atmosphere seems to have naturally made us more comfortable on stage as well.

As a rookie group, what has been the most exciting moment for VVS so far?

Honestly, every moment is new and precious, but this UAE performance will likely be memorable for a long time. It was the moment we confirmed that our music could truly reach this far. Will you continue to join us on VVS’s journey?

How would you describe your music and performance style to someone who’s just discovering VVS?

VVS’s music contains sincerity and honesty within bright energy. On stage, we want to create an atmosphere where everyone can naturally enjoy themselves together.

What are your goals for 2026? Any upcoming projects fans should watch out for?

In 2026, we want to meet you all on more stages. In particular, we want to increase the number of performances where we can interact closely with our international fans. We already have performances scheduled in Orlando, USA, and Puerto Rico in February and March 2026. We are also preparing new music and performances to show you. Please wait just a little longer. We will come back as a more grown VVS.
