Netflix has dropped the trailer for ‘Money Heist: Korea — Joint Economic Area,’ a remake of its hit Spanish crime drama, and revealed its premiere date.
The teaser poster uses a Hahoe-inspired mask instead of the signature Salvador Dali mask used in the original ‘Money Heist’ — whose original title is ‘La Casa de Papel.’
Directed by Kim Hong-Sun (‘Voice,’ ‘Black’), the upcoming 12-episode remake is set in a fictional Joint Economic Area, in a world where the Korean Peninsula faces reunification.
The series features high-profile actors, including Yoo Ji-tae, Kim Yunjin, Park Hae-soo, and Jeon Jong-seo.
One of Netflix’s most popular releases, the original Spanish-language series wrapped up its fifth and final season last year on Netflix.
Produced by BH Entertainment and Zium Content, the ‘Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area Part 1’ will be available to Netflix viewers on June 24, just in time for summer.
