Jimin became the first Korean artist to have the biggest track in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region with ‘Like Crazy’ for the week ended on March 30, 2023, according to IFPI’s Official MENA Chart.

The titular track of his solo debut album ‘FACE,’ which was released on March 24, debuted atop the weekly regional chart between March 24 and 30, 2023, surpassing Rema’s ‘Calm Down,’ Miley Cyrus’s ‘Flowers,’ and SZA’s ‘Kill Bill.’
The Official MENA Chart captures music streaming from 13 MENA countries —Oman, Algeria, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Qatar, and the UAE — and includes chart-eligible streams from Anghami, Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and Deezer during the week.
‘Dreamers,’ sung by his bandmate Jung Kook’s as part of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 soundtrack, was also in the top 10 during the streaming singles chart’s debut in the week ended November 24, 2022.
On April 3, Jimin became the first BTS member and first South Korean solo artist to lead the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, thanks to ‘Like Crazy.’
The dancer-vocalist is the fourth BTS member — after Jin, J-Hope and RM — to debut as a soloist before enlisting in their country’s mandatory military enlistment.
IFPI presence
The K-Pop septet are no strangers to the IFPI’s charts. The K-Pop group were the world’s second top global recording artist last year after back-to-back wins in 2020 and 2021. Additionally, anthology album ‘Proof’ was named the fourth in the IFPI’s Top 10 Global Albums chart.
