Singers Gummy and K.Will will perform at the Korea Season event in Dubai this weekend to commemorate the pre-opening of Korea360.
The cultural event, titled ‘Korea Season in Korea 360,’ will take place at the Dubai Festival City Mall (DFC) and will be hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
It will also feature performances, including fusion gugak (traditional Korean music) by group Queen will also be taking the stage. , K-pop exhibitions, and cultural experiences like wearing “hanbok” and writing Korean letters. It marks the lead-up to the opening of Korea360, a center aimed at promoting Korean culture and products in the UAE, opening on Feb. 28.
This event is part of the 2024 Korea Season, a cultural initiative to showcase Korean arts, entertainment, and tourism in countries with growing Korean influence.
Director General Kim Hyun Jun of the International Cultural Affairs Policy Division of MCST expressed his expectations that “the event will raise local awareness and anticipation for the upcoming launch of Korea 360 as well as serve as a bridge that connects local audiences interested in Korean culture and arts to mainstream Hallyu.” He added, “UAE Korea 360, along with Indonesia Korea 360 launched in 2022, will act as a pivotal base for Hallyu-related companies to expand into Middle Eastern and Asian markets.”
