‘KPop Demon Hunters’ star Arden Cho is heading to Abu Dhabi this September for the Middle East Film & Comic Con (MEFCC) 2026.
Abu Dhabi debut
Cho, who voices Rumi in Netflix’s global animated hit, is among three newly announced guests for this year’s convention, alongside ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and ‘Mission: Impossible’ star Pom Klementieff and ‘One Piece’ actor Jacob Romero.
Her appearance at MEFCC, taking place from September 11 to 13, comes after a breakout year that has introduced her to an even wider international audience.
The actor and singer lends her voice to Rumi, one of the central characters in ‘KPop Demon Hunters.’ The Netflix film became a global phenomenon, surpassing 600 million views and spending 52 consecutive weeks in Netflix’s Global Top 10. The film also won two Oscars in 2026, further cementing its place in the pop-culture spotlight.
Cho’s connection with fans, however, extends well beyond animation. She has built a diverse screen career through roles in ‘Pretty Little Liars,’ ‘Teen Wolf,’ and ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender.’
She is also a singer-songwriter, with acoustic covers and independent releases attracting millions of views online. Away from entertainment, Cho has a taekwondo black belt, has modelled internationally for brands including Clinique and Nike, and has competed in poker championships.
MEFCC lineup
Cho’s appearance comes as MEFCC continues to bring major international stars and popular franchises to Abu Dhabi in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi. She also joins an already star-studded 2026 lineup that includes John Cena, Mackenyu and Joonas Suotamo.
“MEFCC has always been where fandoms come together, and this September we’re bringing more of the worlds our fans love under one roof than ever before,” said MEFCC Show Director Loy Pinheiro. “Across three unforgettable days, fans can immerse themselves in everything from comics and anime to gaming, cosplay, K-pop, collectibles and so much more.”
With Cho now joining the guest list, ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ fans will have the chance to see the voice behind one of the film’s most recognisable characters in Abu Dhabi this September.
