HYBE’s first Japanese boy group &Team has made its debut on the music scene with EP ‘First Howling : ME.’
Much-awaited debut
The boy band’s members EJ, K, Fuma, Maki, Nicholas, Yuma, Jo, Harua, and Taki come from Japanese, Korean, and Taiwanese backgrounds.
They were selected from TV survival shows ‘I-Land,’ ― which created K-Pop boy band ENHYPEN ― and ‘&Audition – The Howling.’ Nicholas, K, EJ, and Taki were chosen in the former while Maki, Fuma, Harua, Yuma, and Jo competed in the latter.
HYBE’s chairman Bang Si-hyuk and the creative minds behind BTS and Tomorrow X Together (TXT) teamed up to produce &TEAM’s debut album.
In late November, the Japan-based nine-member boy band formally entered the music scene with the rock-pop track ‘Under the Skin.’ The pre-released lead track debuted at number 80 on Billboard Japan Hot 100 chart dated December 3.
&TEAM’s album also includes B-side tracks ‘Scent of You,’ ‘Buzz Love,’ and ‘The Final Countdown (&Team ver.).’

&Team’s official fandom name is LUNÉ, which means ‘moon,’ the abbreviation for Light Up New Energy, according to HYBE Labels Japan.
