Netflix’s ‘The Scandal’ Enters Qatar Top 10, Debuts No. 7 Globally

Netflix’s limited series ‘The Scandal’ has entered the streaming platform’s top 10 in Qatar, marking its first appearance on the chart in the Middle East during its debut week of September 14–20, 2026.

Qatar debut

The eight-episode series was also among Netflix’s global non-English TV hits for the week, ranking at No. 7 worldwide with 1.9 million views. It also recorded 14.5 million hours of viewing.

‘The Scandal’ appeared in Netflix’s top 10 in 10 countries, including Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan and Vietnam, and reached No. 1 in South Korea.

Global reach

Qatar was the only country in the Middle East where the series appeared in Netflix’s top 10 weekly tally during the viewing week, giving the Korean production a foothold in the region as it charted primarily across Asian markets.

‘The Scandal’ follows Lady Cho, played by Son Ye-jin, and Cho Won, played by Ji Chang-wook, as a dangerous wager draws them into a seductive game of manipulation and desire involving Hui-yeon, played by NANA. As their scheme unfolds, the three become entangled in a perilous web of love, deception, and fate.
