South Korea’s ‘Seoul Vibe’ debuted on August 26, garnering 7.2 million hours of viewing time globally on Netflix.
In return, this makes it the fourth most popular non-English film on the streaming giant after Danish thriller ‘Loving Adults,’ Norwegian teen drama ‘Royalteen,’ and Japanese sci-fi film ‘Fullmetal Alchemist The Revenge of Scar,’ respectively.
The 1980s-set Korean driving action film was in the top 10 in 10 different countries, topping in South Korea, Vietnam, and Taiwan from August 22 to August 28, 2022, Netflix revealed in its weekly ranking.
‘Seoul Vibe’ is also popular in Asia, including Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.
The action-adventure film, however, didn’t make it on Netflix’s weekly ranking in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
The star-studded film features Yoo Ah-in, Koh Kyung-Pyo, Lee Kyoo-hyung, and Park Ju-hyun. K-Pop singer-songwriter Ong Seong-wu plays Joon-gi, the team’s mechanic. Winner’s Song Min-ho also made an appearance.
Another Korean action-adventure ‘Carter’ also drew in an additional 2.89 million hours viewed during the period. It’s been in the top 10 for four weeks on Netflix.
