‘The King’s Affection’ starring renowned actress Park Eun Bin and K-Pop star Rowoon is set to be released on October 11 on Netflix.
The forthcoming romance series revolves around a female twin who ends up disguising herself as her late crown prince brother while trying to keep her identity and affection for her teacher and first love Jung Ji-un, played by the SF9 member, a royal secret. They both face a destiny that can’t be avoided as their love and affection for each other blooms.
“On set, Park Eun bin and Rowoon brought the charming atmosphere and feelings of wistful yearning to life realistically,” the producers said in a statement.
Actors Nam Yoon su, Bae Yoon kyung, and Choi Byung chan also star in the series yet their roles have not been revealed.
‘The King’s Affection’ originates from a comic book series that was inspired by “imaginations about a woman rising to the throne and having to disappear from history” Netflix said.
Produced by Story Hunter Production and Monster Union, the drama series is directed by Song Hyunwook, who worked on dramas ‘Beauty Inside’ and ‘Another Miss Oh’, and written by Han Hee Jung. The latter wrote ‘Clean with Passion for Now’. The announcement comes on the heels of Netflix confirming that ‘My Name’ will be out on October 15.
The first episode of the poignant palace drama will premiere starting 6:30 pm GST next month on the streaming platform.
