HYBE, the powerhouse behind BTS, SEVENTEEN, and KATSEYE, has established its new subsidiary, HYBE INDIA ENTERTAINMENT PRIVATE LIMITED, marking its fifth global headquarters after Japan, China, America, and Latin America.

New subsidiary

The new entity will act as a strategic hub connecting India’s fast-growing music and entertainment market with the global industry. Positioned in Mumbai, the country’s cultural capital and home of Bollywood, HYBE INDIA aims to discover and nurture local talent under the mission, “Where voices of India become global stories.”

The move aligns with HYBE’s “multi-home, multi-genre” strategy, which emphasizes building businesses tailored to regional cultures while linking them to the global stage.

“With approximately 185 million users, India’s music streaming market is the second-largest in the world, making it the perfect market to implement our growth strategy,” HYBE said in a statement. “The remarkable rise of K-pop in India highlights the country’s potential as a major market, and we are excited to expand our presence.”

The South Korean multinational entertainment company first signaled its expansion in June 2025, announcing plans to launch a branch in India between September and October.

HYBE INDIA plans to roll out a locally optimized training and development system through auditions, while also supporting regional activities of HYBE Music Group artists. Leveraging HYBE’s full suite of capabilities—from artist discovery and production to management and marketing—the new subsidiary will serve as a bridge between India’s music scene and global audiences.

Global strategy

HYBE INDIA joins the company’s growing global network, which includes HYBE JAPAN, supporting groups like &TEAM and aoen; HYBE AMERICA, home to Ithaca Holdings and artists such as KATSEYE; HYBE LATIN AMERICA, focused on building collaborations and talent pipelines in the region; and HYBE CHINA, dedicated to artist development and market expansion. Together, these subsidiaries drive HYBE’s “multi-home, multi-genre” strategy, designed to reflect local cultures while connecting them to the global stage.
